CYTOSORBENTS CORPORATION

CytoSorbents (formerly known as MedaSorb Technologies) is located near Princeton, New Jersey. The company's products are based on a proprietary platform technology expected to significantly improve patient health and survival rates in multiple medical applications including sepsis, the 10th leading cause of death in the United States. In addition, the company's products target treatment of cardiopulmonary bypass, acute renal failure, chronic renal failure, drug removal and trauma-induced organ dysfunction.

The company's two products, CytoSorb™ and BetaSorb™, are blood purification devices based on its platform adsorbent polymer technology. CytoSorb™ is a critical care device focused in three primary areas - treatment of sepsis, increasing the number of viable organs available for transplantation from brain-dead donors and prevention of post-operative complications of Cardio Pulmonary Bypass (CPB) surgery. BetaSorb™ is a chronic care device designed for long-term use to significantly enhance the effectiveness of hemodialysis for patients suffering permanent loss of kidney function. The company is focusing its primary efforts on the commercialization of its CytoSorb™ device for treatment of sepsis. It believes CytoSorb™ has the shortest path to market and the greatest revenue potential.

CytoSorbents has 25 issued and multiple pending patents covering materials, methods of production, systems incorporating the technology and multiple medical uses. Two new patents broaden CytoSorb™'s hemocompatibility and methods of manufacture IP.

The company achieved the first regulatory approval for its CytoSorb device in the European Union in 2011 and began a commercial sales program. It has completed a 100-patient clinical trial in Germany for Sepsis. The trial demonstrated significant efficacy.

In addition, the U.S. Department of Defense has initiated funding for military use.
